Episode 4x04 [The Five]

I know a lot of us are really looking forward to this episode, probably the most anticipated one of the season, yet!

All in all, I liked this episode. I think it was a bit over-hyped but I really liked it.

I'm not the biggest DE fan, but I loved their little dancing scene. When Damon was dancing to Elena, I laughed so hard. It was sexy, and probably the most I have felt towards DE as a potential couple.

Shane is hot!! I really hope he is not using Bonnie, I won't jump to conclusions but it's not looking good for Bons right now.

Poor Rebekah, I feel so bad for. I actually like her now. For a minute I loved the scene with her and Stefan until he actually turned on her.

It's hilarious to me because DE fans are pissed and mad at Bonnie for "cockblocking" but Bonnie didn't do anything. Elena left on her own free will!! I think that in that moment Elena turned off her humanity and was in straight I don't give a fock mode. When she saw Bonnie something clicked and she became humanityElena again.

Shane is a hottie. I agree that it doesn't look good for Bonnie, as his intentions seem... questionable. Everyone in this show is rather ambiguous though, so I'm not not ready to label him the 'bad guy' yet.

Rebekah is slowly starting to be one of my favorite characters. Hopefully she comes back soon. I think Claire Holt is one of the stronger actors on the show.

I'm surprised Caroline, who seems to be a writers and fans favorite, was not in this episode. I missed her, but I'm glad Bonnie is not the only one receiving this treatment. I really wish they did not introduce this many new characters, and they didn't spend THIS much time on the triangle. That'd leave more time to properly develop all the characters' storylines.

Speaking of the triangle, I'm not sure what to think about Delena or Stelena at this point. I'm disappointed in Stelena this season (they hide way too many things from each other), and no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get on board with Delena. I want Damon to be with someone who can accept him for who he is, and I just don't think Elena will ever be that person.

Personally I really like this epsiode... Why?

Because it was one of the few episode that we have gotten that hasn't been about some romatic ship. Yes it had Stelena moments and Delena moment but all in all it was a plot driven epsiode and that is what this show needs. I find it funny that many people who are watching the show for the ship didn 't like this episode. Many fellow DE fans said that it sucked because nothing happen with Delena. The thing is that if all you want is to see you ship make out ever episode then you don't really like the show you just like a ship... and this is why the rating have continued and will continue to go down. TVD has to find a balance and between driving plot and the romance. For to long, they have made this show about a number or relationship- and lost the story. i think tonight is the first night in the season where i feel like the real plot has shown it self.... and that is a good thing. Will it be enough to save TVD... only time will tell.

The Bonnie/ Damon/ Elena trip was entertaining but it was also a very telling thing to see. One, as much as Bonnie is ok with Damon teaching Elena how to feed she doesn;t and will never be ok with allowing them to hurt people. Many say that Bonnie was being judgmental but the truth is she really wassn't. The fact that she even went along with this idea of Damon's proves that, however she isn't going to pull and Elena and just laught off everything Damon does. That is not her MO. Second, Elena is going to need to make a choice soon, at the end of the day she walked away from Damon. However, it seems that that she only thinks of Stefan when she feels guilty. I'm sorry but you shouldn't be with him if he is an after thought. The arguement between Bonnie and Damon remind me of season 1 in a good way. Bpth are open and honest with each other ( something that Elena has yet to be) and both made good points about Elena and what will happen with her. As much as she is changing, like Damon said. Bonnie is right as well, elena can't hurt people. She doesn't want to change who she is at her core and at her core she tends to feel for everyone.

At the end of the day, if she still is a vampire . They will have to find a way to get her to feed her own way. They have to take what they know and adapt what they know to fit elena's chracter so she can feed without the guilt.


Bekah broke my heart tonight, Klaus is a major jerk for treating her the way he did. And to daggger her at the end... However what Bekah said to Klaus rings so much truth, No one can love someone that can't love himself. Klaus first love is power and no matter what happens Klaus will always pick power or love. It his MO and as said as it is I wouldn't want him any other way.


Kefan together again... I see some dark things ahead for Stefan the question is how long will it take for him to turn dark again


Shane and Connor As much as it suck that Shane could be using Bonnie for his own evil plans I like it, because i think he might be the one that pushs bonnie to dark magic. Which is what I want to see


It looks like the writers are taking the slow burn effect with the storyline right now... I'm all for this if it moves the plot along... I don't want filler episodes anymore each episode need to have a reason for being. All in all I like this episode

LOL at people constantly assuming DE fans are all mad because of high expectations or Bonnie. Uh, I'm pretty sure I hate the episode because of how Damon was treated.I didn't expect DEx, a love confession, bloodsharing, etc. I was pissed that Elena brought Damon into her feeding mess, gets help from him, but then suddenly feels guilty because it wasn't Stefan helping her? Huh? Where was that guilt in 4x02 and 4x03?

I also didn't get why Bonnie gave her a look for dancing with Damon, but I don't hate her or anything. LOL at Stefan wanting Elena to be human regardless of Elena human=HUman bloodbag. But as long as he gets Elena it doesn't matter right? God, he's so pure and compassionate lol.

I don't care about whether Delena gets together or not. I want Damon to be happy, and I think that's far away from epic SE. Since Elena doesn't want to be a vampire then she should just leave Damon alone. Just let Stefan teach her and leave Damon out of it. Stop running to him and fix things with your bestest decision ever.

So what did we learn you guys? We learned that not all DE fans are pissed at Bonnie or because of some tweets from the Josh guy and had high expectations. I'm pissed at damon continued treatment and how he's taken for granted. I'm not even really a DE shipper, I'm Team Damon first and foremost and that's it.

So don't lump me with the rest because of reasons I'm not even pissed at. Thank you. Also I felt bad for Rebekah. Everyone always treats her bad and uses her, Damon, Klaus, Stefan, the hunter dude. She should just snap and kill them all. Or at least kill damon. Then I'll have a reason to stop watching.

Also LOL at DE fans being mad because nothing happened with DE or wanting them to kiss or whatever. The DE moments was cool, yes, but I wasn't mad because it was one step forward, 100 steps back. It was more because of Damon's treatment. I'm not other DE fans.

Sorry, if you were offended but in no way did I mean every DE fan because I like DE myself and Yum clearly said many, but the fact of the matter is that most hardcore DE fans are not happy for the reasons named.

Anyway, I liked the episode and I am sure that is large in part due to the fact that I'm not a big shipper and am a fan of the show first. I think if more people had that mind frame when watching, they would enjoy it a lot more.

Damon needs to leave Elena alone because it makes him look bad, really. He could do so much better than being second best. I guess that's why I am not the biggest DE fan and am more of a Damon fan because I hate how she treats him most of the time.

I am still liking Shane until proven otherwise. Question? Does this mean that Shane is a vampire hunter? Is this what Matt has on him? Or will Matt see Shane and Connor talking and tell Damon that they know each other?

Also, I'm a Bonnie fan but those fans that are saying Damon pushed or hit Bonnie sound silly. It's so hard to be in this fandom at times because people can be so illogical and irrational.

As a DE fan was a little upset but i got over it and there are quite a few who were upset mainly because nothing happen as far as DE storyline. I didn't mean to lump you in with ever De fan and I try my best not to lump that shipping group as a whole but it is very clear that quite a few people were upset because of Delena, I didn't mean you specifically so if you felt that I did I am sorry.

My point I was trying to make is this. We all... Bamon, Delena, Stelena, Forwood, Karoline shippers are much to focused on these ships. This is the underline problem with TVD. Because as the writers focuse on the ships they have steadly started to loses people. Let look at some long running show on the CW like OTH, Gilmore Girls, Smallville. All these shows has major ships groups, what make those shows diffrent from vampire diaries is that they not only had the ship but they had a plot as well. This is what this show needs however they insist on teasing the fandom with these ships because they have nothing else. If they want TVD to be succeful they need to work on the plot and not just the romance of it all .

As much as it sucked for Damon what Elena did, it is good in a way. They said that Damon wasn't going to pine over Elena and I think right now they need to focus Damon on something other than Elena... at least for the time being because this back and forth isn't fair for Damon.

The episode was better than last weeks but still not as good as 4x02.
I liked the Stelena & Delena scenes, I still don't know if I'm stelena or delen tbh...
I really felt sorry for Rebekah! So angry at Klaus about what he did to her
I don't like Shane, I think he's quite creepy, he reminds me of Mr Tanner haha?

While I agree 100% with you about the writers focusing too much on the ships and it being so detrimental to the show, I'm afraid I don't share your optimism about this issue going away anytime soon. I felt this episode still focused way too much on the triangle, and Elena's feelings for both brothers. Elena's struggles should be about coming to terms with being a vampire, not so much about how she feels for Damon and Stefan.

There are some really cool new storylines being introduced, but I have a feeling the writers will manage to make all of it about the triangle again. The triangle has always been there, but in Season 1 and Season 2 (the best ones in my opinion), it never felt like everything revolved around it. I was hoping Season 4 would be different, but I am slowly losing hope. Hopefully I'm just too pessimistic!

Also, I see a lot of hate for Bonnie, because of the look she gave Elena when she saw her and Damon dancing. Truthfully, I don't think the shocked expression on her face had anything to do with Elena dancing with Damon. She walked in on Elena dancing in public while rubbing blood all over her face... I think she has every right to freak out a bit.

Apparently, regarding the books, the writer for the books had a deal with the book company where the story was supposed to be all about Stelena, and a Stelena romance story. Apparently She went off-board with the DE stuff and deciding to make them endgame so they fired her because the deal was SE endgame.

I wish they would do this on the show, scrap the triangle and just let SE be epic together. Then they could focus on more important things the show lacks, like character development, better sl, better plots, stop turning every villain into a hero, etc. They should just go the book route and have it always be Stelena, that way Damon can leave Mystic falls, find someone else, etc. I would like this over DE anyday.

The Shane thing, I think he will push Bonnie towards the Dark path since he's in league with Connor. Stefan was a little bitch this episode, going behind Elena's back to make plans for her future, without even letting her know or getting her input. What he did to Rebekah sucked as well. I felt bad for Rebekah this episode. Everyone always uses her and then discards her when they are done. Stefan is so pure and compassionate, Lmao. Even if it was Damon I would still feel sorry for Rebekah and hope she goes on a massive killing spree when she gets un-daggered. All she wants is someone to love her, and to care and I hope she finds that. I also hope she seriously just say F*k Klaus and leave him behind.

All S3 even though he daggered her she was still on his side and stuck with him no matter what. It's sad she can't get the same devotion from him.

All in all an alright episode. Some parts pissed me off and others annoyed me to no end. Also, so that was why Bonnie was judgy? Because of Elena wiping the blood all over herself. I was so confused because when she came in the first thing she saw was DE dancing, so I assumed it was because of that. Seeing the blood on Elena face makes sense.

I only Watched this Ep for Bonnie ,Shane and Some Bamon

Stefan was good this Ep he got the 411 and that was needed and was there for Elena and Jeremy
Damon and Klaus Both being Punk Bitches and still not Sexy at all
Matt and Rebecka Love them and ship them
I watched the show Live for Bonnie , Bamon and Shane Stuff and got very little of that in the show some other Bonnie/ Bamon Fans also Watched live for this because they made it seem Bigger then it was

I also Hope Rebecka gets out and Fucks Klaus ass up

I actually thought Bonnie was pretty sound in this episode! I thought she'd be like what she was like when Caroline turned, and fall out with her for something that wasn't her fault, but she was fine! I'm not the biggest Bonnie fan to be honest, I think she's really moody an stuff but I don't see how people disliked her this episode? She didn't do anything wrong. And I think Shane is a creep, idk why but I just think he is

I liked Bonnie this episode as well, she stood up for her friend. Elena was hurting and upset about what she was doing, Bonnie saw that and took up for her friend. It's crazy because I saw some fans saying that they were mad at Caroline last episode because she sides with Stefan and she has no loyalty to Elena, but when Bonnie shows loyalty to Elena...it's deemed as horrible.

And Rachel, some fans are always mad at/hate Bonnie. She is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. You really see the hate though when she butts heads with Damon.

it was definitely an interesting episode ill give it that! finding out theres a cure for the vampires was a real eye opener, id like to see elena get cured as i really felt sorry for her this episode, but we know nothings as simple as that.

elena and damon having their own biting fun at the party was a little disturbing i thought, mainly on elenas part as we're not used to this side of her but thankfully bonnies evil stare shook her back to reality.

bonnie was surprisngly cool afterwards towards elena though, i half expected her to go off on one and be nasty towards her so i respect her for that.
