The Originals pilot!

Hi, thanks for posting.

I'm honestly indifferent to the Originals show because I hate Klaus's character. But I do love JOMO and I love Charles Michael Davis, so I will tune in to see how it goes.

I don't care about them or their spinoff to be honest. I only like Rebekah, the other two are annoying to me. I'll watch the backdoor pilot so they can leave the show, after that I'll just stick with TVD. I don't see how it'll be any different from this show tbh, or how and what enemies they will have, considering they are the most oldest and most powerful vampires.

But yeah, 4x20 is the backdoor pilot I think, so I'll watch it so they can leave this show. After that, IDK I guess I'll see from there.

I'm not really looking forward to it either tbh, the only original I liked was kol, and hes dead I dont think I could deal with a programme with Klaus as the main character I will watch the pilot though to see what it's like

Rebekah and Kol was the only two Originals I actually liked, but now Kol's dead. I wasn't that bothered by him dying, even though I did like him. I felt he brought it on himself, and shouldn't have tried to interfere with TMF's plans.

But yeah, anyway, I might tune in here and there just to see how Rebekah's doing on the spinoff, other than that I won't really be keeping up with it.

I hope it is not a prequel to events that led to klaus, katherine episode. If they have werewolves in it, I am all for it. Though i am not a fan of tacky accents that dates back through time and costumes. Seems fabricated when rebekah talks in an unnatural accent.

But as a TVD Franchise, I guess i should not find it bad.

It's not a prequel, but it might have flashbacks or whatever to better develop the Originals as a family. Anything else will be happening in present time.

There'll probably be as many flashbacks as there is on TVD. Isn't there like 3-4 per season or something like that? I'm wavering between not watching it, because I hate Klaus, and watching it because of Rebekah and seeing how good it is.

Is JP going to be the showrunner for The Originals? Because, IMO, she's a better writer than she is a showrunner. The individual episodes she has done has been good, I just don't think she's all that great at running the show. I actually think the show was more awesome and better when KW was here, to help balance out the angst and all that stuff. Both KW and JP balanced each other out nicely in season one and two, but since KW left, again IMO, the show has sucked balls lol.

There's too much doom, gloom, and hopelessness on the show nowadays. IDK, I guess I'll see if she does better with the spinoff.

She will be the showrunner of the Orginals.

I'm so indifferent to the show, but like you guys I will watch the pilot to see what it's about. If they have Klaus on this show being good all of a sudden, I will never watch another episode. I swear lol!

I liked Elijah in season 2 because I thought he was so bad ass when he first came on their. But now, I'm like when he comes on. I do like Rebekah now, but I hate Klaus and I was really indifferent to Kol.

Thank god it's not a prequel though because I wouldn't have even watched the pilot lol. So, serious.

I liked both Elijah and Klaus when both was Badass, which was in s2 for Eliajh, and s2 and 3 for Klaus. I don't get why every bad guy has to be redeemed on this show, it's not that realistic imo. And since JP is the showrunner I have no doubt Klaus will be even lamer than he is on this show, on the Originals spinoff. She tries to redeem bad characters too much, and make them too soft in my opinion. LIke Klaus for example, with the whole drawing ponies thing. Or trying to redeem Jules in s2, when she apologizes. The only two characters who was and still is Badass, imo, is Damon and Kat.

I def. think they will make Klaus even lamer and softer than he is now, especially if they have a love interest for him, or really is doing a love triangle(LOL) on the spinoff between him and Elijah.

Same here kraybaby, Rebekah is the only Original i love now. I'll also def. watch the pilot and see if it's good, and hold any judgement till then.

OT: Is it true they only brought PT, the actress who plays Hayley, into the spinoff because the CW loves her from the secret circle? Phoebe Tonkins, I think?

Lol, I'm right with you. I will judge after 4x20, Klaus just makes my blood boil now, and that's mostly because Tyler was my favorite guy on the show and I'm still not over his departure and if they kill him in 4x19 I will be sooo pissed, especially if Klaus kills him.

And about PT, I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised. I think if they would have had a starring role available for her on TVD they would've put her on here. They been talking about the ORiginals since the end of season 3, so I have no doubt that the character of Hayley was made specifically to tie her into the Originas and give her a starring role on there.

Tyler was one of my faves, and I thought writing him off the show is lame. Even lamer is them using the excuse Tyler has a "Mark" on his back from Klaus, and so has to stay away from Mystic falls like Kat had to. Uh, except she really hasn't been staying away though right? In s3 she came back to help TMF despite Klaus being in town. IN s3 she followed Klaus and Stefan, despite her being so afraid of him. And apparently this season, she is a master ninja and can stay off the radar/be invisible. So she hasn't really been much afraid of or keeping her distance from Mystic falls imo.

Even lamer is the fact that Klaus will be gone to NO soon, so he will be leaving Mystic falls behind and having his own problems to deal with down there, but Tyler still isn't coming back? And if he does it'll just be guest appearances.

IMO, Klaus doesn't seem to care about revenge when the person who he's seeking revenge after runs away. If he catches them, cool, if not, no problem. In s2 he let Kat get away even though he knew she was on vervain. Then in s3 he wasn't worried about finding her at all. She wasn't even on his radar anymore. So what's the difference with Tyler? Lame.

Oh yeah, I do think you're right about Hayley. I do think had she not been on here, she def. would have still been a part of the spinoff, because they have a specific role for her. Wasn't it even spoiler before the character appeared that, she would have a connection with Klaus, and something about NO?

I think I changed my mind about this spinoff. I might watch it afterall, just because the vampires on there will be actual vampires. It sounds like what season one of this show was, being a vampire, feeding, and fun.

Yea, that's what I was trying to explain to you. How the show is not like TVD and more adult feels. The thing that made me not really want to watch is the ORiginals TBH. I was always going to watch the pilot and try to watch if it got picked up because the actor that plays Marcel is totally hot lol, I know that's shallow but whatevs. lol.

I just am not sure how the show will do though. Like would people who don't watch TVD be interested? How would they market the show? So I'm interested in how they will do that.

Well that makes me want to look at it, because that totally sounds like s1 of this show, and that season was the best. But then I remember Klaus and Elijah are in it, and then I waver between watching it or not. I really, really, really, don't like Klaus, so if I do watch it I'll be torturing myself lol.

But like you said, what makes me on the fence about watching it is the Originals, or Klaus in particular lol. I hate him so I really don't want to have to watch him on my screen, but OTOH it sounds like this show will be like the first season of TVD. But knowing JP, really, how long would it last considering how she loves making her characters miserable and writing her shows like soap operas? If there was a guarantee that it wouldn't go south after the first and second season like TVD did, I would be on board.

IDK, I'm stuck lol. Mostly because JP is the writer and showrunner on this show, and look how far it's gone down since s1 and 2. I don't know if you think this show has deteriorated since s1 and 2 in terms of writing, plot, and story, but I do, and I think it's because JP isn't that much of a good showrunner and the overall story outline because of her soap operish writing, her strength lies in writing individual episodes, and JP and KW both balanced each other out. So yeah, I'm on the fence on whether TO would stay fun, and the vampires being vampires and all that.

And YES, totally thing the show has gone down hill. Season 3 is the absolute worse. I don't think this season has been too bad though. But definitely not as good as the first 2 seasons.

I think TO will be up with hard competition because I believe NBC or maybe it's Fox are doing a vampire show, Dracula, and it's about the original vampire so I don't know how well TO would do.

I think this is the promo for 4x20 but it pertains to the spinoff. I think I will be watching the spinoff, the promo looks awesome for the 4x20 episode, but Klaus at the end with his "I want to be King" made me LOL. I just can't take that guy seriously, at all. It really, really, looks good though. I think I may be able to stomach Klaus if I plan to watch the spinoff.

How could I forget about the triangle. That's the main reason it's gone downhill as well, their over the top focus and obsession with it. Well JP's obsession over it, since she's showrunner and could end it whenever she wanted to. I never got why she's so adamant on this lame triangle lasting until the end of the series? Was there ever a reason given for it lasting until the end of the series? I know it's based on the books, but I only read the first three and don't remember them that well. Was the triangle the main focus in the books as well? I guess JP also got writing a triangle from soaps as well? She drags it out too much, and panders to both sides at the sacrifice of story and other characters.

There's going to be another vampire show? I didn't know that, wtf. So now there's going to be three vampire shows on tv now? LOL. TO better do good otherwise it's going to get shit on, lol. Isn't TO going to come on right after TVD on the same channel? I agree that I don't see how TO is going to market itself, seeing as there's already TVD and now this other vampire show.

I think I'm also going to give it a shot and see how it goes. It looks pretty good from what I've seen of the 4x20 promo.

The promo does look good though, huh? I was like dang. But, nope I can't take Klaus seriously because he is such a joke. But I think if they right him better on TO I would be able to tolerate or maybe even come to like him again. But as of now, still hate him lol.

And this is fine to post it here, I had never made a thread for epi 20 because I was being spiteful lol but I will make a thread for it in the Episodes forum so we can post spoilers there. Also, it's fine to post stuff in this thread as well.

I'm just so interested in how they will promote this show to viewers outside of TVD. I am going to give it a shot though.

Yeah, I think if he's wrote better on TO then I may not dislike him as much, might even start loving him. Depends on how they write him and what they do with his character on the spinoff. I wasn't going to watch 4x20 at first, but I'll def. tune in because the promo looks all kinds of awesome.

I didn't know about the other vampire show coming soon, Dracula, so yeah, I want to see how TO deals with two vampire shows already on the air.

Yea, I'm so torn about Klaus cause I hate him but I want to like him cause of this show because the pilot promo seems interesting.

I don't get though how they'll surmise that people want the spinoff just by the ratings. What if people are just tuning in because it's a TVD episode, not knowing about the spinoff or caring about it? I don't get how they'll get whether it's good from ratings.

Ugh The Originals. Talk about flogging a dead horse. I just do not think they belong in Mystic Falls anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love them all in their own ways (except Klaus, he shoulda died a looonnng time ago) but the context of the story doesn't NEED them anymore. There is a new villain in town which makes this dysfunctional unit pretty much irrelevant.

I hope they go on their show and don't ever come back. All of them are way past their expiration date on this show, so it's good they are leaving since they don't want to kill them. I can def. say I'm looking forward to next thursday episode though, the pilot for TO look pretty damn good.

Has it been confirmed that the show name is TO? Or are they going with something else?
