| Honestly, when I first read the OT it WAS a bit of a struggle tbqh. I wasn't exactly blown away by the writing style but I appreciated the mythology and the characters. In particular Damon  I love the gothic-y feel of these books. Fell's Church DOES actually feel like a secluded place where bad stuff could quite possibly happen. As another fan put it, LJ was clearly inspired in some aspects by Anne Rice's world of vampires. | |
