So, I just watched the episode and it was okay. Definitely a filler episode.

Damon is definitely going to turn human.

I love Stefan, but got damn it he is the most explaining MFer ever. He is like the Mystic Falls encyclopedia LOL.

Bonnie should have been in this episode and she should have been the one to take Elena down. That would have been awesome. I knew they would let Elena win the fight, that was lame because really, what did Alaric teach her that she was just so damn good. Major side eye on that.

Seems like they are trying to set up Steroline? I hope not, I ship them as friends and nothing more.

And Klaus and Hayley sex. It wasn't bad as I though, I actually kinda ship it LOL.

My Tyler baby, I got chills when I heard his voice. Love me some him, can't wait to see him in 4x19. I got a bit teary eyed when Care read his letter.

I wonder who that guy was, Will, and why Damon killed him? I guess we will find that out next episode in NY.

Episode thoughts:

I love the frenemies dynamic between Elena and Caroline over the show making it seem like they are super close friends. Sure they grew up together and stuff, but I think they tolerate each other at best and Bonnie is the buffer between them. But I liked the cheerleading stuff and Elena letting Caroline fall out the air, lol. Elena attacking the girl and doing whatever she wants is refreshing to see, I actually kind of like this Elena.

Damon and Rebekah teaming up was cool, love when they interact and love Dabekah TBH. Oh, I def think Damon is turning human at the end of the season. He really, really, doesn't think being human is all that great, and think it sucks judging by his convo with Rebekah. So yeah I think he'll be the one to turn human should someone be turning human this season, because he's the only one disgusted(LOL) by the thought of being human besides Klaus, and we know Klaus isn't getting it. I knew Damon telling Elena he doesn't want to be human was the truth, but lots of people thought it was his insecurities talking. While I do think that was a part of it, I honestly think he just doesn't want to be human, or care for being human again at all.

And lots of people bring up s2 when he said he misses it, but there's a difference between missing something and actually wanting it. I think a large part of him missing being human was because he thought he couldn't be loved as a vampire, what with Elena not returning his feelings, so he missed it because he thought he wouldn't be loved as a vampire. And also because all vampires miss being human at one point or another, but I doubt many would actually want to be human again. And that's how I see Damon, he misses it but given the chance to be human again? Nah, he wouldn't take it at all.

Oh and I was surprised that Damon knew the other guy, Will right? At first I thought he was going to help him and give him Klaus blood, but he killed him. I'm guessing the guy is someone he partied with in the flashbacks next episode? I wonder why he chose to kill him over helping him? Was it really to stop Rebekah from going after the cure? What do you think KrayBaby?

I thought the Elena/Caroline fight was hot, but I'm a guy so there you go, I think any hot girls fighting is hot. I laughed at Elena saying Caroline fights like a girl, it was so hilarious to me. But yeah, I also loved them in their cheer outfits as well. Is cheerleading outfits really worn that short though? My school doesn't have those kinds of cheer outfits, I'm thinking they should lol. Like pronto.

Klaus and Hayley sex? I laughed really hard the entire time because it came out of nowhere. I have to admit though, I think it was a good sex scene. I liked it and thought it was good. Don't ship Klaus with anyone though, and think it could have been done on the spinoff, but whatever.

Did I miss anything? I think that's it. Tell me what you think about me and you live watching and chatting on here while the episode is on. Me and you are really the only ones who fill up the episode thread anyway, so might as well do a livewatch. I think it'd be fun.

I didn't watch live because I have 2 year old twins and I usually let them go to bed around 730p, so I usually wait. I can do a live watch with you though, I can just let them go to bed after it airs. That would be fun, I had been wanting to do one here for a while now. Oh and you can just call me Kray--that's my nickname lol.

I thought it was funny at first, but shit got real at the BH lol. Elena was dead ass wrong attacking Sheriff Forbes and then trying to kill Caroline. She is acting more like No Humanity Stefan to me, than Katherine in this episode, aside from the sexual stuff. I definitely agree on the friends thing though, I always see it as both girls are best friends with Bonnie and they are friends because of her.

Yea, I like Dabekah's dynamic, but they were a bit boring lol. Aside from Damon killing Will. I do think he will be in the flashback next week. I don't think he killed him so that Rebekah couldn't get the cure, because if anything he would prefer she got it than Elena, since he seems to like this Elena. I can't say that I like her though, I didn't like No Humanity Stefan and I already feel myself not liking No Humanity Elena.

The fight was interesting because I think they needed it, but I just hate how they had Elena win like that. And no, I have never seen in real life cheer outfits that short. Elena's was especially short and tight lol.

"Klayley" sex really did come left, but they had been flirting the entire time of the episode so I don't think it was too left field. I could get behind Klayley because they are both on the same playing field. Shady. She wouldn't have to change who she was and he wouldn't have to change who he is for it to work. I think they are building a storyline to start the Pilot with so that's why we keep getting so much NOLA talk and stuff.

Oh, and Elena had a jealous moment about Steroline. I don't care what she said, it was definitely a moment of jealousy. I thought it was cute.

Same here. I thought some parts was funny and I enjoy Off!Elena, but some stuff wasn't necessary. I thought JP said Elena wouldn't be like Katherine and use sex as manipulation? LOL I don't know what her definition of not using sex as manipulation, but I def. saw some of her actions as Katherine. And I agree that trying to hurt Liz wasn't really necessary, what was the point? Just to get the two girls to fight? How the fight came about was lame to me, but I liked it because it was two hot girls fighting.

Why do you think Damon killed him then? When he says Damon name and Damon recognizes him, I thought for sure he would help him and give him Klaus blood, because it seemed they was friends or knew each other well, but he killed him. I didn't get that scene.

lol IKR? Their skirts seem too short, but I'm not complaining. Maybe its because of the way they wear them or something, like they have them pulled up to their stomach or something, so it seems short? idk.

I actually enjoyed the klayley sex and wasn't as grossed out as I thought I would be. I even thought Klaus was enjoyable this episode as well.

The Bonnie part, I didn't get why she wasn't in the episode? All she got was a lame mention instead of her being seen. Bonnie should have been in this episode and I don't get why she wasn't.

Agreed, 100% I like them better as friends even though I don't like both of them. Everyone doesn't have to hookup and have sex, this isn't GG. A lot of people think they will hook up though, because of season one and Stefan blowing her off, saying they would never happen. People are taking that as foreshadowing that they might hook up at one point in the series.

I can't wait till he returns either, but if he comes back just to be killed I'd rather he not come back TBH. Also from Hayley's convo with Klaus it doesn't seem like he's actually going after Tyler, he just wants him to be afraid and look over his shoulder for the rest of his life, same as with Katherine. Did you get that too from that scene?

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either. Thought it was a great scene actually, and I think it's possible she'll be his love interest in the spinoff. They do have chemistry as well, so I kinda ship them as well lol.

Yea, what she did to Sheriff Forbes was really unnecessary. And then trying to kill Caroline, I mean if it wasn't for Damon and Stefan, Care would be dead. I mean I know you don't like her so probably wouldn't care lol, but she was really going to far. Especially since Elena was the one in the wrong. Then Elena says to Damon that he has tried to kill Stefan, but that's not really true. Even with Stefan's humanity off,he couldn't let his brother be killed. And I can't remember, but I don't think we have had Damon to actually try to kill Stefan, have we? And even if he did, coming to the show DS hated each other, while Car and Elena did not. I don't know I just think it was lame of Elena, especially her reasoning.

You know, I'm still confused on the Will/Damon/Rebekah thing. But now that I think about it, maybe he was crossing Rebekah? He didn't need the information about Kat's whereabouts because he knew the guy was from NY? So, he got his answer and killed him so he couldn't report back to Kat and have her leave and Rebekah wouldn't know. I guess Rebekah follows them to NY or something? But then you would think that Damon would want to heal him and question/torture him for more info and then kill him. So I'm kind of stumped about this one.

About the cheer outfits, I have no idea. Maybe they made them tighter so that Elena could be sexy in hers?

I agree about Steroline. Not everyone needs to be shipped romantically.Their friendship is great and anything more would ruin them, IMO. I really don't think anyone can go by the first episode about who either brother will end up with. I think that scene had to do with Caroline being insecure and jealous of Elena and nothing to do with end game.

Is it bad that although I liked the Klayley scene, deep down I was screaming "yes" because it opposed Klaroline? And you are right, Klaus was more likable in this episode.

And yea Bonnie totally could have been in this episode. I can see why she wasn't though because she is all cray cray with Silas and not herself at all, so she wouldn't have fit.

If Tyler dies, I will be so pissed. I think JP will get some hate mail, because they brought him back because of the fans complaining how he left so if they bring him back just to kill him, it won't be pretty lol.

Oh yea, I saw a theory where someone said in Stefans promo pic where he is holding the keys, that he will be the one to bring Elena's humanity back. Like he is the key to her humanity?

Now that you mention it that was a lame reasoning. And like you said, Damon has never tried to kill Stefan at all. At most they throw punches at one another and that's it. Even in season one when Damon was pissed at Stefan with the Kat situation, he still protected and saved his brother and never tried to kill him. Stefan even called him out on it in season one right before Damon killed Coach Tanner to prove a point(LOL). Remember? Stefan had said that Damon had an eternity to kill him, yet he's still alive. And he's right, because Damon did have plenty of chances to kill him, yet all he chose to do was follow him around and make his life miserable. He's never actually tried to kill him kill him.

EDIT: Wait, does 4x05 count? Damon threatened to rip his heart out if he didn't tell him why he was working with Klaus, and he actually had his hand in his chest. Does that count as trying to kill him?

That's what I thought, he did it to keep Rebekah from the cure. And I do think Rebekah follows him and Elena to NY, because she was following him around this episode lol.

Yes, that was the main reason I was looking forward to it, because of all the crying klaroline fans later. But then I actually thought it was good and liked it. I can see them being together in the spinoff.

I think he will be too. Her first signs of feelings and humanity was being jealous of Stefan talking to Caroline, so I def. think he will bring her back. I think her being jealous over Stefan supports him bringing back her humanity and making her feel again, and I don't even like the ship. I thought later in the episode, it was katherine all along....DUN DUN DUN. I liked the episode. I also predicted that elena would kill someone on the road like damon killed jessica. When did klaus turn sexually active???That was new.I don't understand how hayley is seduced by klaus or vice-versa. I mean hayley was the victim and klaus wanted info on katherine and the cure. How did they end up having sex?No info on silas either except for stolen blood bags. I think we will get to know about will in the next episode or not.

I forgot about 4x05, but I don't think he would have actually killed him though.

And yea, she was definitely jealous, and she tried to play it off because she is suppose to be emotionless now. And with Stefan saying that he wouldn't give up on her. It's a lot of parallels from this season to last as far as SE is concerned. How do you feel about that? Since I know you love DE, hate SE? For a while, and sort of still do think they will end the season with DE, but after last nights episode I'm not sure about that. What do you think will happen?

On one hand I, personally, think it would be cruel to have Stefan bring Elena back but then oops, she's still going back to Damon, haha suckers! Like you said, I love DE/hate SE but I think he kinda does have to get payoff for that, and I don't see Stefan would make her feel again but she goes back to Damon. And on the other hand I want DE to end this season together, so yeah I'm confused how the finale will play out. I'm not a Stefan/SE fan but I think it would be too cruel to have Stefan bring her feelings back and not get her in the end.

I don't think it was Kat. I don't get what she would gain from pretending to be Elena? And I don't think why she would even pretend to be Elena and risk getting caught. I mean, she did take the cure from under everyone else's noses, raised Silas, and got Elena's brother killed, so I can't see her potentially getting caught and killed just so she can play games. And what did she do to Elena if it was Kat?

I was jokin about katherine impersonating elena in this episode. I find that klaus is a centuries old vampire who does not bend for anyone or has ever shown emotions towards anyone but caroline. The only episode where klaus enjoyed sex was when he used tyler's body and caroline thought he was tyler. But that was not OOC since he had a thing for Caroline. Though elijah had emotions for katherine, Klaus was strictly business in getting her sacrificed. All of a sudden, klaus showing sexual interests in hayley who is any business but getting to katherine and cure, even after finishing business with her by finding the vampire that could lead to katherine(will) was killed, I find it OOC. Klaus seemed more attracted to katherine in the flashback episodes and still did not make any move though katherine would have fallen for him, But i am surprised that he slept with hayley but never did with any other attractive character like katherine.

I don't think it's OOC, he doesn't owe Caroline anything to be celibate for her. I'm sure he's had sex before as well, just like when Damon couldn't get Elena he slept around. She's constantly been rejecting him so I can see him having sex with someone else because he thinks he'll never get her. IDK, I just don't think it's OOC for him just because we've never seen him in a sex scene with anyone before.

Lol, yea that would be kinda cruel, huh? So, I'm stumped on how it will end. Maybe she will stay single for a while, I wouldn't mind that at all.

And as for Klaus, I don't know why people are saying it's OOC. Just because we never saw him have sex, doesn't mean he doesn't. His story initially, wasn't at all about romance. It wasn't until halfway through the last season where the writers had him show interest in Caroline. It's been said that vampires love sex, so there is no way I don't believe he wasn't having any sex.

And why would he have sex with Katherine? She was just a means to an end. He wanted to use her to break the curse, nothing more, nothing less.

Hmm, now I'm even more confused. How I saw the rest of the last two seasons playing out was, s5 she's with whoever and dates them until the end of the season, then there is a breakup for one reason or another. Then s6 Elena is single and thinking about her life, her future, who she wants to be real, etc, and by the end of the season she'll choose a Salvatore or whatever and whatever else is planned for endgame. But if she's single in s5, what will s6 be about? I guess she is still with that person from s5 all the way up until the second half of s6, then breakup so she can decide her future, where she see her life heading, dreams and goals, boyfriends, etc. Then finale she chooses for the last time lol. Of course there'll be angst and triangle drama and teases, so it won't be smooth sailing. But now I'm even more confused, because the person who brings her back is who she loves more, so it should only be fair that whoever it is ends the season with her.

So yeah, I do think Stefan will bring her back but I'm not sure how the finale will play out. Will they put SE back together or have Stefan bring her back and she ends the season with Damon?

I actually don't see Kat having sex with Klaus or Elijah and think it'll be pure fanservice. Like come on, the last time she saw Elijah the douche was all butthurt because she didn't trust him, and ran away instead of trusting her life to him. Then, he compelled her to stay in a cave because he was pissed off still so he decided to let Klaus have his revenge for her running. And all this was because she didn't put her life in his hands and trust him. But he's sooo noble. LOL ok then.

And the last time she saw Klaus the dude was making her hurt herself, because how dare she not let Klaus kill her in a sacrifice for power? How dare she run away to save her life and not die? How "selfish" of her, right? Then on top of that he killed her entire family because she wanted to live instead of die and ran. Basically he got pissed she chose her own life over dying for him.

So yeah, I can't see her really having sex with either of these lame ass Originals. And I still don't think Klaus having sex is OOC. It's not like him and Caroline made a celibate pact to one another or something, she's been having sex with Tyler. The show producers say that Klaus is like Damon, and I agree with that somewhat in that Damon likes having sex. I think Klaus likes having sex as well and I'm sure that wasn't his only time, we just only saw that one time because it's relevant to the spinoff I guess.

Kat actually liked Damon/Stefan and the feelings were mutual.

With Klaus, Katherine was just a means to an end. He wanted to use her and I honestly don't believe it was anything more than that. He didn't really care about her IMO, hence him avoiding her.

He must have had some major blue balls if Hayley was the first time he's had sex in 1,000 years.

Hey Kray, did you see the spoiler where it says Elena will do anything to get the cure, even go to first base with ___? It's Elijah, and I think that's seriously jumping the shark. No one else ran around kissing people and getting naked in front of people switched off, so why is Elena doing this stuff? Is the show trying to say that Elena subconsciously wants to walk around naked and kiss random guys, but couldn't because she was afraid of judgement? I mean, sure, I get that Damon sleeps around and usually walks around naked, but that's Damon, that's not because he's switched off, that's just part of his character.

I don't get why they would have them kiss, it's not like she likes him or something, and it's not like she would kiss him normally. I guess this is all stuff Elena wanted to do deep down inside but couldn't? I guess me and you was right after all, these next few episodes will cater to the Originals. You know what, if they seriously are going through with having Elijah/Elena kiss, then I'm sure they could just as easily do klaroline as well in 4x18, which is a big klaroline episode according to Jomo. At least with klaroline they had development and not just thrown together for fanservice.

Make me feel better, or tell me it won't be Elijah!!!!!! There's stuff saying it's Elijah though, it's not just speculation. There was pics of Elena and Elijah, someone on set taking the pic said that the two people(Elena/Eliajh)are in a gazebo and kiss, and they are dressed up. It was for 4x18, which is the episode where Elena meets up with Elijah.

I really wanted Caroline to win that fight with Elena, SO BADLY. I actually cant get over how much I hated Elena this episode, I kept thinking she was like Katherine but no where near as cool

Klaus & Hayley sex was super funny, I dont even know why I found it funny. I dont understand why folk were fangirling over JoMo's back but yeah, the scene was wrong in so many ways. If Hayley was in love with Tyler that badly then why was she sleeping with the guy whos ruined his life? But I think Hayley is going to be an original werewolf or something, I cant wait until more werewolves come to MF

I'm intrested in who Damons friend (Will?) is, I hope he was gay with Damon or something, that would be brilliant

I think Stefan & Caroline are going to end up falling for eachother, which is annoying cause I like them as friends. I dont think they'd make a good couple but idk.

Tyler's letter. Omg. I almost cried at it but I stopped myself. I thought it was so so cute that he gave Matt his house, I actually cant get over the cuteness of it. When his voice came on I was like "OOOMMMGGG" but it was such a cute letter. I think it finally hit Caroline that he wasnt coming back, I really felt for her she had a tough episode haha! Cant wait for Lexi next week!

I don't get this either TBH. The last time Klaus saw Hayley she was a part of the rebellion his hybrids had planned, and the last time Hayley saw Klaus he was the reason her friend Chris died, and he also tried to kill Tyler and made him leave town. So while I did like the sex they had, I didn't get why they wasn't pissed at one another, Hayley especially. Seemed kinda lame because that wasn't really explained at all.

But I think it won't be explained, it'll just be part of the fanservice and catering to the Originals that will continue on from 4x17 to 4x20, concluding with the Elena/Elijah kiss. I'm actually serious about Elena/Elijah kissing, it's a legit spoiler and it will legit happen in 4x18.

I actually liked Elena this episode, even when she was walking around naked. It reminded me of how Damon walks around naked because he loves to flaunt his body, and that he usually does it to get a rise out of Elena, and I always find it hilarious. Even her and Caroline frenemies dynamic was back, which I loved since I think they barely tolerate each other, and that they aren't as close as the show tries to make them out to be. But yeah, I enjoyed when Elena let Caroline fall on her ass, and the girl fight. I don't like Caroline and I do think she was being bossy and annoying to Elena this episode, so I get why Elena was tired of her crap, but I do think actually trying to kill her was OTT.

I think the fight was pretty much even, but I guess with Alaric's training Elena can fight much better than Caroline? IDK, I think that was what the show was going for.
